Stuttering and stalting??

Hey i got an 05 stock. I drive 50 miles a day to work. My car has been screwin up. Its happened 5 out of 6 days. Runs fine all the way to work, then on the way home about the last 15 minutes to home it starts stuttering and most time causes me to pull over or dies on the road. My first thought i got bad fuel. I've ran through that tank and refilled now at 1/4 tank full. I've also put some seafoam in the this tank. Also pulled the cat off. It looks great in side so i put it back together. To day same thing pulled off turned it off for a couple minutes. Then its fine for about 5 minutes, then i can start feeling it goin to stutter. Anyone? Note my line from the oil fill tube to the air intake tube it broke off. I have earplugs in the holes to seal them off. I'll have to get the fitting at the dealship. And my cel was on but yesterday it went away but still having the problem.

Get a compression test.... Im having similar problems, took it to the dealer and they quoted me $180 for a compression test... ugh f that lol. Was also told that i didn't have warranty anymore so.. **** me -____-

Though i changed sparks and coils to no avail. I havent been able to look at my cat. But since you already have and it looked unclogged.... It might just be your apex seals... see if you can get a free engine from the dealer you should the car should still have a year left on the warranty, accounting that you are still within the 100k mile limit

I have been battling with Mazda for months on this same issue. Cat was replaced, coils were replaced, and has been to the dealer about 6 times. I drive for a while and then I have an extreme loss of power and it will normally die when I am stopped at a light. Especially after driving on the interstate. If you get any word from Mazda let me know. I am under warranty and they keep telling me that I am crazy because I bring it in every time it happes. Good luck!

This all sounds like a failing fuel pump. Failing fuel pumps typically have trouble staying cool as they pump, and when they overheat they will have trouble pumping and begin to shut down. This is normally caused after longer highway driving or high throttle driving, and being able to start it up and drive normally after letting it cool off is a confirming factor.

I know I have a high milage engine, it happens to my car only after 15-20 minutes of street driving. Unless I let the car sit for 15 minutes, and only it will let me restart the car again. CEL P2259, P0506, and P0300. Besides the low compression, could the fuel pump possibly be the cause of this?

Took mine to a mechanic today for a compression test .. dude told me its def not cause of low compression. It could be entirely possible that its the fuel system acting weird.

It might just be the fuel pump slowly crapping out it seems.

Nice explaination! Lookin at autozone and ebay. The complete unit cost about $250. There are some kits on ebay for about $75 for just a universal pump 140psi and regulator. Anyone try this? Replacing the pump rather than the whole sending unit.

Not sure what kind of ear plugs you are using but most ear plugs do allow air to flow thru the membrane.
Now the real point here is whether your ear plugs are semi permeable or not I'm worried that if they are not permeable you've gone (if I understand) plugged the crankcase vent. Not a good idea. You don't need anything in that section connected to the oil filler neck. Technically.
Should be filtered for dirt.

Hey RIWWP this is off topic and a hijack but the OP said he put seafoam in his gas.
Dude I would never do that. What is you position on this? Should you include it in one of you epic mandatory to read threads?

Get the Walbro 255lph pump.

People seem to be having good results from it after doing some searching round the forums.

Ebay has some good deals

CA A little help

wuts up guys i know I am not having the exact same issues but i am having a stuttering problem with my Rex in between 2k and 3k. It usually happens when i am cruising in 4th gear it feels like if don't pass 3k it will just drop rpms every other gear feels fine. I have not done a compression test yet; could it be apex seals?? I have been searching and have not yet found someone with a similar issue. Any input would be very helpful.

RX8 info:
