Strange stall/coolant light Situation Yesterday
So I was at Hot Import Nights this past weekend in Chantilly VA. Tried to pull my car in the building but was turned away due to to much full in the tank. So i go out to RT 28 and start rompin up and down the highway to burn the fuel out so i can pull into the show. On my last trip up and back on the highway. My coolant light comes on, mind you the temp. needle hasnt moved. Still sitting where it always does. Once the coolant light came on when i would try to accelerate the car didnt seem to want to go anywhere and started makin a weird tapping sound. So i get to the light where i need to turn back into the show and the RPMs drop real low and eventually the car stalls. I try and start it and it doesnt turn over. I wait about 2-3 minutes, try to start it and it barely fires. I had to keep it reved just to keep it running to get into the parking lot. I park the car the RPMs drop again, and again the car stalls. Shitty. I let the car sit for about and hour and i start it up and idles fine. Drives fine, coolant light is not on. Drive it over to the building and put it in the show. That night i drive the whole way back to PA without any problems. Is this a heat issue. Was it just to hot for it on top of the beating it was gettin from me tryin to burn gas. Whats goin on? Anyone else have issues like this? Hopefully someone on here can give me some ideas. Thanx for your time.

I looked in my coolant resevior and it appeared to be full. I have also looked for like a max fill line and havent been able to find that yet either. Any Suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Very similar to my experience yesterday. I wasn't driving the car hard at all. I got to a red light went to take off slowly not killing it and it wouldn't move at all finally it decided to go. I was like oh no here we go again. I drove about a mile and it was making this very loud tapping noise, I drive another mile into my driveway and it cuts off. Wouldn't restart on first try then barely turned over on second try.
One day later I start the vehicle and the coolant light comes on for about 8 seconds and goes off.
I am getting really tired of this car. It is so nice looking but has been in the shop many many times. Why did Ford have to buy Mazda?
