I would apreciate some help in regards to this problem:

When I start my car in the morning and use reverse to exit my garage, I feel the steering wheel very very hard and if I try to turn it left or right, I can feel it as if it jumps on a broken base (Sorry I don't know how to explain better in English). It's like the servo is not working and it remains very hard. As soon as I exit, it goes back to normal and it's softer.

If my anyone can understand my explanation, please tell me if this is a problem and if there is anything I could do to fix it. If not, just ignore my post.

 

So it is only in reverse? Only when car has been sitting? Any MIL?

Yes, it happens only when cold. About reverse I guess it's a no because I have noticed the same hardness even before attempting to go reverse so it happens regardless the gear but it's only in the morning. I have no lights for this but it didn't happen all of a sudden. I have been noticing this for a while but it has been getting worse after some time so maybe at some point in time it fails as well.

Now, if it's a complecated procedure I'd rather leave it for the mechanic as my engineering knowledge is limited. I can only do it myself as long as it is a simple part replacement without need to disassemble big parts. From what I saw in those diagrams I hough it will be hard for me.

 

It has been a while since I read up on this issue. It is pretty clear that your power steering is in a state of some kinda fail.

As I recall, there was an issue with coolant spraying on the connector. Have you overheated recently?

In anycase, I seem to recall that the connector isn't well protected. Your issue may be solved by simply cleaning that connector.

I would be best if you or a mechanically inclined friend attempt this before you go to a shop. Shops dont like to do stuff that is cheap and easy to do. You might not get the best info there unless you have a good relationship with them.

Thanks for your help. I didn't face any overheat but we do have ver hot summer here.

Is the connector easy to reach without the need to remove bumpers or any large parts? I like to do those things on my own when I know which part to touch.
