Stalling Idle Problems ? Battery Light
My car recently started having idle problems.
This morning the car died after it started and ran for about 2 seconds.
Later it dies again at a stop light while i'm in neutral.
It gets worse throughout the day and I have to give it a little bit of gas to keep it from stalling out. It's not a rough idle like a vibration or anything.
It just drops down and dies out.
The battery light comes on right before I let it die
I did unplug my battery last night because I was installing an amplifier in my trunk.
The amp doesn't have a remote wire runnning to it yet and it's not using any power.
Sound like I need a new battery ?
Also, thought this was wierd ... Last night when i was installing my amplifier ... I checked the current on the battery and it read 20V ... yes 20 ... digital mm too .. and the car hadn't been started in hours
It reads about 12.5 with the car turned off right now.
04 mt with 61000 miles plugs coils and wires less than 1,000 miles ago
EDIT - forgot to mention the car seems to turn over fine ?

Steve... Steve is that you? Don't go into the Light Steve! Back to the future!
Ok. Semi-seriously take a look at this. Sounds like you could have a problem with your SSV being stuck:

Yeah... everytime your battery is disconnected, your car has to relearn its trim.
Sometimes one reset doesn't work well (for an unknown reason), but do it again and its better.
I recall reading earlier threads from years ago where this was discussed, but I don't believe there was a straight answer as to why you may need to do the reset a couple times.
Anyway.... hopefully things work out for you now.
