squeaking in the interior?

has anyone else noticed a sqeaking noise, or like a plastic moving on plastic noise when driving, or well when on a bumpy pathway? or possibly when the radio is on loud...... it's driving me crazy... and i don't want to bring it back to mazda just for that, but the noise is driving me to "be that guy"

I've noticed a squeaking sound coming from both doors as well as the dash. It sounds like pieces of styrofoam being rubbed together. It's only noticable when I drive on certain bumpy roads or if certain frequencies of bass are in a song. Even then, it's so quiet that it's hardly noticable. Unfortunetly, it happens for such short periods of time that it's difficult to demonstrate or locate. Also, I've only started hearing this during this winter so I'm wondering if the cold effects it.

I found the squeak in the dash. It can be demonstrated by gently wiggling the gauge pod up and down by just a few millimeters. This sound is almost identical to the one I've been hearing from the doors. This doesn't help find the squeaking in the doors, but at least it demonstrates what it sounds like. Still, I don't think Mazda will do much under warranty unless a noise complaint is indicative of a more serious problem.

I'll be installing a new sound system and dynamat next month so I'll search more thoroughly for the cause of this noise then. In the meantime, I just turn the music up louder or pretend the bumps in the road are orange cones...

Check out the TSB section. If I remember right the styrofoam would loosen and squeek

I would think mazda would fix it. I know someone on here had it fixed, but I haven't done a search.

I have a squeaking noise that comes from the rotor thing in the passenger seat headrest. If I squeeze it, the noise stops. It doesn't happen all the time, but when does, it really pisses me off. I just wanna take the darn thing off.
