Soot in tailpipe

So to start, I'm not much of a tinkerer, but is there some relatively easy way to cut down on the amount of soot coming through the exhaust (2009)? Each time I wash the car, I clean it out, and it's back in two days. Has anyone found an easy fix for this?

Thanks.
