Soon to be my 3rd windshield
First post! Picked up a 2004 Sunlight Silver 6sp in December. Love the car and love this forum. Have been a lurker for a long time - it was the forum that convinced me to buy it instead of my other choices. Learnt so much about the car and great to see Im not alone in my appreciation of it.
About 3 weeks ago my windshield developed a lovely crack on the drivers side at the top about 14" long - took it to the dealer who agreed straight away to replace it under warranty. No sign of any rock chips or anything.
A week later on Friday I dropped the car to get it replaced and swap the winter tires out. They called about 2 hours later to say they unpacked the new windshield and its badly scratched and cant be used, keep the loaner car and they will reorder and get it express delivered. Yesterday they call to say the car is ready, tires swapped out, new windshield in and the trim on the door sill replaced - (it was peeling off so figured why not get them to fix it rather than me glueing it back on.)
I get to the dealer only to find that my new windshield has a 20" crack in the center at the bottom! It had only been installed a few hours before. Of course they were very apologetic and are ordering another one.
Has anyone else had a story like this? Am I going to be replacing windshields on a regular basis?
Dont take this as a rant - I am having so much fun driving the car. Just curious if there is anything the dealer or I should be concerned about? With the way my past week has gone I just figure its bad luck!
Thanks

heres a couple of pics...hard to see in the light...I thought it might be something in the seat but this crack is in a totally different place? Oh well...maybe I can make a new record for windshields in a week.
