ID shifting issues

hey all. new to the club. this is a cool thing you guys got going on here! i have an '05 6MT. i just had a couple concerns with the behavior of my shifter. its probably just me being a hypochondriac! so when im, lets say, at a stoplight in neutral and the light is about to turn green, so i put the clutch in and go into first it seems almost like it kinda forces its way in but if i take it out of first while holding the clutch in still and go back into first it goes right in smooth as butter. just wondering if this is normal or if there is an issue. the clutch doesnt seem worn out at all. and sometimes upshifting and downshifting into 3rd is a little sticky at times too. there is never a grinding sound or anything but you can kinda hear and feel it a little shifting into first and upshifting into second. if anyone has any input on this it would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's normal, It's probably just the synchro doing its work. Stuff spins in your transmission while you're sitting in neutral with the clutch out (you've probably noticed the noise at idle that stops when you push in your clutch)

Could be your synchros going bad, or it could be nothing at all. It's one of those issues that is hard to diagnose without driving your car. If you know any 8 owners around you, have them drive it or go to a car meet and have someone there drive it and see what they think.

thanks for the feedback guys. took it to the dealer and the tech and the service advisor both drove it and couldn't diagnose anything. think i was just being a little ocd about the whole thing. had a couple friends drive it without noticing anything abnormal as well. got the extended warranty too so if the synchros do go bad only costs me 100 bones. actually they said mazda would almost more than likely just replace the whole tranny if anything internal goes bad! quite an enjoyable comment at the end un4gvn! truth spoken! thanks again guys!
