Self Levelling Headlamps problem
Can anyone help?
Dipped headlights on my 2004 231 adjust to highest point and stay there blinding all and sundry!
I know that there is a self leveller sensor near the rear nearside suspension but have read that there is also one near front nearside suspension. Is this so, and can anyone tell me where exactly?
I initially thought that the arm attached to the rear sensor had bent, but now seems OK so any ideas please? Waning light didn't come on initially but does now.
I have read threads elswhere that describe how to take apart and clean up sensor which has saved a fortune!
Many thanks.

I believe it's just the rear sensor?
Perhaps you taking it apart and cleaning it bumped it out of calibration or "alignment"? What happens if you disconnect it, turn on the car, the lights, and move it by hand. Do you get the lights to adjust at all?

You will see the front sensor linked to the lower control arm on the front suspension on the same side as the rear sensor if memory serves.
Did anything bad happen to the car? run over something? bash a curb? anything mechanical??
The early models (2004) had a potential leak into the sensor from the wiring connector initially used. You can get an upgraded wiring harness from Mazda or simply seal the area where the wires enter the connector block.
The sensors are easy to take off and disassemble but if they are corroded there is nothing to do but replace them.

found with a quick search using "suspension" as the keyword. interesting that it was also a UK poster.
