The Saga Continues... Several codes now....
So about 5 months ago i got a new motor from the dealership under warranty.
Car felt pretty good except for occasionally hiccuping at 5000 rpm and a bit long to start no check engine lights though.
I replaced the fuel pump and the starter and it was much improved.
Until recently. I ran it a bit hard and when i got home the rpms kept dipping and the engine would shut off on idle. I could hear several backfires from the exhaust. The next day it was hard to start and the rpm needle was bouncing all over the place.
I came on the forums and based on all my symptoms i figured it was the cat. I ordered a magnaflow cat+midpipe and installed it this morning. I figured that would solve my problems. I was wrong.
Same issues, so i checked the engine codes and i got....
p2096
p0301
p0171
Heres what i have done so far....
I havent checked the ECC sensor yet but something tells me this issue is bigger than that.
Now my car is sitting at the dealership because me and my wife share a car, so i need to get it fixed asap.
I'm afraid the dealership is gonna run up the bill on me, as i've already spent loads trying to get this thing running good again. Is it possible they gave me a bad motor?
Any ideas?
