RX8 Wont start

So I made an attempt to wire footwell leds into the green wire w/ black stripe

and blue w/ red stripe and once it was complete i noticed that they didnt turn

off and when I hit the blinker they would blink in sequence and I had found

out I tapped into the wrong harness. It was the harness closest to the

footwell fuse box. So I undid everything and I came out the next day and the

car would not start lights came on, heater worked, stereo worked but when I

would turn the key nothing happened all was heard was a clicking noise. I

popped open the fuse box under the hood and no fuses were messed up.

I broke open the top of the st relay and when I press it down it sounds like it

wants to start but nothing happens and eventually the battery gets drained.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Battery is drained. Borrow a charger or jump start your car.

Start with only clicking noise means that your ignition is firing but the starter is not spinning the engine.

Either A) the power isn't getting to the starter (fuse, relay, battery, physical connection/wires) or B) the starter doesn't have the strength to turn over the engine (starter failing, has power but not enough current, or there is something preventing the engine from turning over)

Messing with the wires down there has the potential to mess with the clutch interlock switch, which would block the car from starting, but you won't get the clicking typically.

you have installed them in the wrong place. Read this thread, follow down to the photos I posted of the correct bundle to tap into:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-rotary-rasps-footwell-lights-leaked-205831/

basically you had wired them into the wrong slot, and by passed a couple of components in doing so. Now what you need to be looking at is exactly what is fried.

How quickly is your battery draining? Have you checked to make sure your battery is holding, and giving a proper charge?

Is your alternator working correctly? Is it outputting to low of a voltage?

Have you some how managed to mess up the security system in the vehicle? Is the starter turning over? Or does absolutely nothing happen when you try to start the car?

Is there a check engine light? Have you tried to pull an engine code to see if maybe there is another problem and this is just a fluke?

Year of vehicle?
Trim level?
Engine/transmission?
Last time you changed the coils/plugs/wires?
Have all the updates been done?
Was your starter replaced? Is it still functioning properly? Is the solenoid in good shape?
Was your battery replaced? How old is your battery? Whats the voltage its giving off?
Is your alternator failed?
How low did you let your battery get?
Have you done anything to the car? What after market mods do you have?
Did you accidently flood the engine? Have you checked the DIY for de flooding just in case?

Havent changed plugs or coils just bought it in september. Nothing happens when I turn the

key I dont think any security is messed up because the light stops flashing when its switched

to acc. When I press in the relay the belts start to turn slowly but thats about as far as it

gets. I really dont know much about cars at all battery got to 10%. I charged it to 100%

today battery is giving off 12.5v and its holding its charge. No aftermarket mods.

Just found the interlock switch and i pushed it in and it clicked and that solved the one problem I'm thinking the engines probably flooded I'll try cranking it with the fuel pump fuse removed. Thanks for all the help so far!

Update: Just deflooded her and shes up and running however when i depress the clutch all the way it wont push the switch in all the way so i taped a couple pennies to it to depress it all the way so it would start any other way to fix this?

It sounds like it's a problem for your battery not the car.
