Hi all, I was looking for a helping hand... my RX8 won't start... the battery is fine, as when I switch the car on, the lights come on fine... but the problem is, the car won't start... i turn the key the full way and nothing... the engine doesn't even crank/make any noise at all... anyone else had this problem before???

 

- Starter is dead
or
if Auto maybe the car is not in Park (fully)
or
If manually the clutch is not engaged or switch for the clutch is broken.

Although, I don't get why the starter would be dead? :-S My car was working fine 2 days ago!

Any instructions on how I could check my starter motor?

 

My starter just went out last week, sounds like the same thing. The only diff is mine made one click when i tried to start it. Found out the click was my starter. Go underneath the car have someone else try to start it (if it makes a click try to find it under the car) go to your starter (easy to get to) check all ur wires to it make sure their snug. Try to start again, hopefully it starts but if not try to start it while hitting the starter with a hammer this might start your car but might be for that 1 time u turn it on keep it on for a min to warm up then shut off try to turn it back on, turns on good but it might be a quick fix and could go out anytime or if it wont start thats saying u need a new starter. Notes: Make sure you take your core to the place u purchased it from they will take off the new starters price. Example: I went to auto zone purchased one for 154.00, took it put it on my car in a half-hour brought back the old core to auto zone they gave me 54.00 back. Lifetime warranty. Make sure you test your battery to make 100% sure battery is cheaper than a starter in most cases. Also make sure the alternator is charging that battery. Good luck

 

BTW I drove my car parked it came out 15 min later, dead. Starters go out randomly.
