Rx-8 won’t start?

So my car broke down last week in the most oddest way I was on the freeway and then my gas pedal just hits the floor and the car battery and check engine light came on and then all my lights came on. I turned off the car and tried starting it again but all it does is crank, I’ve tried the deflooding method but still nothing from what I was told it could be a fuel pump or ignition coils so I ordered a new fuel pump but I wanted help don’t wanna keep buying stuff I don’t need and the car DOESNT make any weird noises when cranking or anything

Well, obviously there's something missing when its starting up... There's fuel, air, and spark. Check to make sure your ignition coils are in good shape, and the spark plugs. If they're good then see if its the fuel pump just being bad, and if that's not it see if it's not getting any air, or enough air. Check for any clogs in the airbox if anything, or in anything else. It could also be your fuel injectors too, you might need new ones. If it cranks then that means the battery is fine.. Its just missing its combustion.
