Can you confirm the VIN range is from 100001-148788? My VIN is 10034XX and according to MNAO my vehicle doesn't show up as part of this recall. It does show up as part of the fuel tank recall though. Maybe the recall is too new and it hasn't been processed through the computers yet?

That's right. What I posted at the beginning was advanced warning that one was coming. Official fix is being prepared.

Yes it is too new. You'll just frustrate yourselves by calling somebody about it until the fix is posted.

And it will be on my site once the bulletin is posted.

As to your other question, all I can say is the used part number "X" up until the previously posted VIN & production date. My experience in the past says give or take a few.

this really sucks, I have an autocross on 08-07, and a two day tracke vent from 08/13-08/14, the track day is paid for already. this issue makes me nervous, even when I don't want to be.

The control arm in question has a K4 1 cast into it. The newer updated unit has K4 2 on it.

They probably will not drill out your new control arms to acccomodate the new endlinks (Liability issue). You may have to provide the stock swaybar and links to them so they can restore your front end to stock condition. You will probably have to re-install the RB parts after the recall work. Just a guess.

Have you seen any mass of complaints on here of their suspensions failing? If anything, its not too hard to climb under the car with a flashlight and scope these buggers out

you probably have a better chance of being killed by a falling coconut like ~1,000 people a year do

Is that a picture of a damaged control arm or simply a picture of one? I can't tell.

So here goes...problems with sway bar end links, shocks, and alignment. This recall will be a PIA for us without stock suspension components

Where is it located on the arm?

Got a translation of the text on the diagram, thanks to a friend who works for .. Toyota! Not really anything we didn't already know. No clipping apexes on the track for a while!

The material of the lower control arm has a problem. If the car cornered aggressively (the Japanese wording apparently mentioned "circuit driving") and hits a bump (his example was an apex curbing) the arm surrounding the ball joint can crack in the area circled. This can, in a worst case, allow the joint to come apart. Dealers are instructed to check the lot number on the control arms and replace all covered parts.
