RP Super CAT

I was driving down the freeway and I was noticing some vibrations/rattleing at the higher RPM's. I went to see if it was something in my glove box (while keeping my eyes on the road of course) and I heard a loud clanging sound as if I had ran over something, when I looked in the rear view mirror I saw a square peace of metal tumbling down the freeway behind me. wen i pulled over to take a closer look I noticed it was the heat sheald, that is.....well, WAS welded on to the super cat from the factory.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? and is it something I should worry about?

Driving down the freeway at high rpm with your "off-road-use only" exhaust?

I was in the same boat heard an odd clank clank noise while driving. It was my RP supercat

for 10 bucks I got it re-tacked from some cheap *** muffler shop. never had a problem since. Actually thats not true - im having a CEL on from the CAT the last 1000 miles here (ive had it for 10K) and i think something is wrong with it. I called chris at rotary performance and he said he would call me back but never did... its okay though because my car is in the shop getting fixed from a break in and theft.

are you doin it urself? if so the only precaution i have for you is to wait for the car to cool down!! haha common sense. it took me about 30 mins to take out the stock and bolt up the new one and get everything torqued down. just dont forget any of the gaskets.

Rena my Rx8, you do not need the bolt and gasket kit. you can use the stock midpipe gasket if you chose and the bolts are the same. I personally ordered a new one just to be safe and get rid of the old gasket.
