Pretty low idle vacuum there. (Less than 12" of mercury or so.)

The whistle is the jet air bleed. You can put a check valve on that, but it will still whistle at idle.

Have you measured the compression of the motor? Do it before you start beating on it. If you are using the e-Manage that came with the system, be very careful and don't alter the boost at all.

Honestly it's hard to tell but it doesn't sound too bad. What are you putting your hand on? Vacuum line? The ticking sounds like the SSV actuator ticking, it's a common issue. What codes are you getting for the CEL?

Mind you this video is a 4 port but the issue is eh same. I currently have this issue.

I would recheck everything, make sure there is not a vacuum leak, etc.

The ticking sound is the EVAP solenoid.
SSV actuators don't usually "tick", but they certainly wont do it at idle. There isn't enough airflow to move the valve and the solenoid is closed below 3600 RPM no matter what.

Well my SSV actuator ticks (knocks, rattles) at idle. When I put my finger on it, it stops. It passes the vacuum test fine the shaft has play in it and it ticks/rattles at idle. But from his video I can't tell if that is the same sound or not.

I feel the tick is coming from the engine more like a knock the video makes it sound better than it really is. I compression tested it i was getting 80 psi but my battery is deff weak had a charger on it but the reading are the same throughout the motor(motor cold). The emanate utimate is hooked up just trying to make sure everything is cool then ap. Im being very causious no load, no revs, no boost at all

I would have a proper compression test done (warm). Can't hurt to put you finger on the SSV acuator just to check. Mine freaked me out when it first started happening, I thought I threw a rod

Get a timing light and check the coils. Check that SSV actuator.

This is the vid I used to help me test my coils.

Oh, the engine is smoking? Are you running a cat converter? What color is the smoke?

Well with a midpipe and no cat, you will smell fuel all of the time, that is just how a uncatted rotary runs. The smoke is somewhat normal as well but should only be for a bit at startup and then go away. Different types of premix (if you are pemixing) will affect smell, smoke, etc. as well.

Good I thought that sound was familiar. Now trying to find just the SSV actuator is the hard part, but the car shoudl run fine. Put a vacuum tester on the end of the actuator and test to see that it is working correctly.

Any decent battery will do. When your order from MM, make sure you read the instruction very carefully and check out his thread on the live tuning.

I wouldn't say it's garbage but tuning the REW and the Renny are different. If you read MM's definitive fixes thread (I think that's the thread, or maybe Brettus had a thread on it), he explains it a bit. But the bottom line is that no piggy back will ever be as good as the stock PCM or a standalone. the RX-8 PCM is very integrated and controls a ton of things. The emanage works well on other cars but so far the Cobb has proven to reign supreme as far as tuning goes.

That guy may be a reputable RX-7 tuner but no one on the planet as tuned more 8's with than MM. MM may be difficult to deal with at times if you don't know how to follow instructions/listen but he is the Jedi master of RX-8 tuning.
