Rear Driving Lights NOT WORKING!

So when you turn on your headlight at night all cars tail lights light up red and stay solid. Well mine apparently aren't, as I found out when I was pulled over by a cop. My headlights turn on, turn signals and hazards work fine, and even my break lights work fine. BUT the driving lights just don't turn on. even the little red LED's that are on the strakes in the tail lights aren't lighting either. SOME ONE PLEEEEAAAAASE HELP! I work at night and use my car daily, and as I cant legally or safely drive my car at night this is a problem that needs to be fixed ASAP! any ideas guys??

Well I would start with checking the fuse box and insure you did not blow it. If you did blow it...why? If not get yourself a multimeter or test light and set aside a few hours to go through all the related wiring. A wiring diagram would be helpful. I am sure someone here has one they can put on line for you. The only other option is to take it in to the mechanic. Common problem is insulation coming off a wire that has been rubbing against an exposed metal surface. Electrical problems can be a major PIA.

Do you happen to know where that fuse would be? Not too sure if I can find my owners manual. And with school and work, looks like theres no time to go through and check all the wiring myself. I don't know how it happened b/c they were working fine thursday and I got pulled over Saturday. All the car did was sit there all of friday.

2007 = Series 1
so James5hill, your parking lights aren't turning on? When you press the brake, do those lights work?
anything else not working?
turn signals?
little side led lights?
reverse?

silly question but any modifications to that area of the vehicle? Different taillights? LED bulbs, etc?

I fitted a pair of Led JDM rear tail units.

They where working fine until I noticed that the centre brake in the boot was not working. I changed the bulb, still didn't work.

Read thread on here about checking the wires in the boot opening as they are renowned for chaffing and breaking. Low and behold there was a break.

Fixed the break and switched lights on, rear lights worked perfect.

Pressed brake pedal, all brake lights worked, then the rear braking lights went out but the centre one stayed on.

Checked the fuse and the 10a had gone.

Have bought set of resistors, shall I put one on the centre brake light as this is the one that I fixed?
