Rattling ticking noise??
My RX8 when warm has suddenly developed a ticking rattling noise when idling and a slight noise that sounds the same at around 4000rpm.
Its quite a high pitched ticking sound which comes from under the car nothing from the engine bay.
It seems to being coming from the centre of the vehicle and if you were to follow where the windscreen ends straight down to the underside of the car thats where it is.
I think it may be the exhaust rattling but im not sure.
I notice no loss of power, warning lights or anything else at all.
I have recorded a hd video of my RX8 running which you can definitely hear the noise in.
If anyone can help me out that would be brilliant!
Thanks

Sound travels in very funny ways. Sometimes where you think the noise is coming from may not be where it really is coming from.
I heard you clip, and I am suggesting those based on my experiences and what I have heard from my car and what has been said on the forum.
Both of these are in the engine bay. Go to an auto parts store and pick up something called "Belt Dressing" (you can ask the people to show you). Follow the instructions on the bottle to apply it to your engine belt.
The coils/spark plug wires, a little harder to get at, press on them on both ends at the coil end, and on the engine side. you need slim arms/hands to get to the engine side.

My son's car had the same issue. I shredded my arm to reach the left side plug wires and found the bottom wire was loose causing the ticking sound. I'd have sworn it was a sticky lifter or rod knock, but I knew better.
