rattling from clutch

so i made the grave mistake of trying to teach my friend how to drive stick in my 8 she kept stalling and bogging and what not. no when i got home and im parking up hill in reverse at really low rpms [below 1k]when i have the clutch in and it makes some rattling from the transmission area. im thinking its the throw out bearing but not 100 percent on that. what you guys think? mounts maybe? oh and if it is the throw out bearing does mazdas powertrain warranty cover it since im still on it? ahhh im seriously having an anxiety attack

If it was a bad release bearing (aka throw-out bearing) then you'll notice the sound more when the clutch pedal is pressed in since that is when the bearing is actually being used.
One possibility is the release bearing tapping against the pressure plate.

But the tapping could also be something else under the car like the exhaust or heat shields.
Jack the car up and climb underneath with the vehicle running (have glove on) and see if its something else rattling.

well the clutch pedal is pressed in just enough so the car slowly moves up before it stalls. if it is just tapping is it covered by mazda? but it really doesnt sound like tapping. it sounds like rattling like if the clutch is loose or some thing

Does the tapping occur with the pedal all the way in or out?

i just had my clutch replaced and started hearing this rattle.. turned out to be the heat shield all across the exhaust. my muffler guy wrapped some ties around them and have been fine so far..

the key thing for me was that it doesn't happen all the time.. you can check and see if yours is the same, and the muffler guy did just that, with car running and jacked up, he was tapping on the exhaust with a gloved hand and noted the shields rattle.

It looks easy if you work on mufflers all day. My local muffler shop saw it and had the ties. he was able to hoist the car up and was easy for him to tie and lock it. the ties are the industrial grade units you see sometimes tied up to boxes to secure packaging, not plastic or it will melt.

The key is to get it around and tie it down nice and tight.
