These rattles are driving me crazy! Can I fix this my self or does the dealer have to?

What could it be and has anyone else experience these rattles?

 

Take a look at the Service Bulletin titled, "Driver side airbag rattle" and see if the problems described there fit your situation.

 

I sort of have rattles, but only when I "play" drums on my steering wheel. Could be the same as yours, just not as pronounced.

 

I had the same problem and it was the clock spring and the dealer replaced it with a new one. It could also be the "driver side airbag rattle" as Spok mentioned. You could probably check the latter yourself but remember to disconnect the battery and recalibrate the steering/dsc/tsc (turn steering all the way clockwise, counterclockwise, then center) after reconnecting it.
