Ranned Out gas problem
so i was driving on a trip and was almost out gas.
I drove till i got to the station and about a half a mile before the station,my car started to lose power and sounded weird.
I thought it was the fact that I was almost out of gas. I pulled into the gas station and filled up the gas tank. Started the 8 back up and it still sounded weird. Has anyone ever experienced this and how was it fixed?
I still haven't taken it to a shop. plz help, (i need it) It ahs 57,000 and 1,900 on new engine. 2004 rx8 grand touring.
Okay it still parked it happen on the first. i didn't want to run it like that. I ran it about 3 miles, to park it. It still has no power and I'm scarred it might be my engine again
so i took da mazda dealership and they says it my engine and im waiting on there reply see if it going 2 b covered

I'm trying to understand what you're saying and it's not easy.
Is your issue that after you refilled the car, it then stalled? Has it been running fine since?

I'm thinking that your fuel pump overheated and has failed to a certain degree.
Without the proper fuel pressure, the fuel will not atomize correctly.
We here have started to see a trend of fuel pumps 50k + miles to fail lately.
The pumped used in the 04-08 Rx-8's are a nominal 115 lph. So they suck right out of the box. Add overheating to an already nominal fuel pump and it's only a matter of time before it fails.
The overheating could be that the drivers run the tank to empty and then fill. I don't know that for sure.
