Radio Display

I just got my 2005 rx8 a month ago and recently the display on the radio has stopped working. About a week ago the radio would stop working and the buttons wouldnt work and the display at the top would not work but if i restarted it a couple times it would work again. Now the display has just stopped working but all the buttons and everything else works. No ipod mods or anything have been done to the head unit so I'm not sure what could be wrong with it. Should i remove the head unit and reconnect all of the wires? It is the original factory radio.

Yes, you should, it's a common problem, there is a pressure screw that's loose.

You can follow these instructions:

similar issue. the display panel on my 2005 is just constantly "scrambling" now. just goes haywire from the time you start the car till it's off. Radio and all controls working fine, just can't see a thing on the LCD. Anything to do besides just have a new one put in?

ok so i fixed it but i just got really lucky, or i guess my dad fixed it haha. My dad just pressed the power button to see if it worked and we noticed when he pressed it the display sorta started working so I pushed on the panel right below it for like 3 seconds and i guess something happened and it reconnected. I'm planning on getting a new sound system installed soon so I'll take it out and check it when i get my new sound system.
