Race roots midpipe issue
So I purchased a used race roots midpipe at least the guy thought it was race roots it wasn't badged with a name that he or I could find but it looks pretty similar, identical imo. anyways the weld around the resonator had cracked but didn't see light coming through yet but I went ahead and had it fixed. installed midpipe and it sounds imo like I took out my gas tank and installed a bag of rice in its place.
Very raspy and kind of loud it's not unbearable, my question is basically is that just what that midpipe sounds like? or how can I tell if the packing is still in the resonator like is it pretty visible? If it's gone can it be repacked? Does anyone like that God awful sound?!

post a picture.
My guess is you have the Agency Power midpipe. The BHR and Racing Beat are the 2 best sounding midpipes without rasp.
I have a AP midpipe that made my car sounds like a rasp, rice bucket. I took out the first resonator and replaced it with a spintech muffler. This took the rasp away.
You're going to need to replace one of the resonators if you want the rasp to go away....buying BHR or Racing Beat midpipe is also an option

Trust me the moment I can buy the bhr midpipe I will. I'm just trying to survive until then lol I don't want to put cat back on because then I have to do triple the work. It's not agency power because mine is only single resonator pic is uploaded

buy a good resonator and have it welded in. Will be much cheaper than buying a new unit. I think BHR even sells their resonator. Email charles and find out

I actually started it without the cat on and revved it out and if it wasn't deafening I would rather have that sound. It sounds now exactly like a tin shed getting torn up by a chainsaw. But I emailed Charles and I guess they still sell them if you ask he gave me a price on it

Haha, I'm in a similar boat but I still can't identify my midpipe. I can tell though, that the inside tube of the resonator has come loose and rattles at low rpm. I've ordered a new resonator with the appropriate clamps and am hoping that adding a $70 resonator will stop it from sounding like the $40 junkyard score that it is.. Might be worth trying on yours too.

I know they took it off the website, and I remember seeing something about it not being available by itself anymore, but that was months ago. Glad he gave you a price, that means he has one and is willing to sell it
Good luck too
