Hi guys,

Recently, my catalytic converter failed and I had it replaced by Mazda. Well, after a brisk drive yesterday night, I parked the car and looked under the car. I noticed that right around where the o2 sensor plugs in was glowing red. I'm a bit concerned and I didn't know if this was normal or not.

The car has been idling a bit rough recently. I've thrown no CELs whatsoever, but when I'm at idle, the entire car vibrates. I've also had my motor mounts replaced under warranty as well about a year ago now.

Can anyone verify if that area is glowing red on their car? Thank you in advance!

Cat shouldn't be glowing red like that!
I would take it back to the dealer, leave the car running, and tell them to look at the cat.

 

Damn....now I gotta go through the whole fiasco all over again!

 

With any kind of recent install, if something doesn't appear right, you should always have it inspected/revisited as a precautionary.

 

My o2 sensor threads are glowing red as well and I am getting a P0302 misfire code every time I rev past 8k.
