How many miles on the transmission and what rpm are you shifting at?

I'm a 2006 6-port AT w/ 43k miles. And it's normal when you're doing a slow cruise. Mine jumps to life once I'm beating the hell out of my car

If you're still in the throttle it probably knows an upshift won't help.

I've got a 07 6sp AT, and I'm way to clumbsy to shift myself, but where that triptronic really shines is holding the upshift when you jump out of full throttle to see if you jump back on it again.

I can actually punch the gas a few seconds, let off, and it stays in that same gear while braking hard into the corner. Most autos always upshift the minute you let off the gas so when you're ready to punch it you have to wait for the down shift, and you had less engine braking (annoying).

It wouldn't hurt to have the transmission serviced.

I have the same issue and was curious myself on this, just never got around to asking.

So, it's normal I take it?

I have a 04 GT AT w/30k miles.

Don't do the drain and refill; have it flushed.
