Question Premature Catalytic Converter failures

So I know there are some problems with brand new CAT's on the Series II that are known to fail prematurely at ~3k miles, but what about the Series I CAT? Are they the same part number and bolt on fit?

Reason why Im asking is I just received a Reman with a new CAT about 2K miles ago/ 2 months and its already clogged. I noticed my car bogging down from 7K+ and I looked underneath my car and my CAT was glowing red.

Anyone know anything about this? Because Im done with CAT's after this, Im gonna order me up a BHR Midpipe, I was just curious if anyone had any information on Mazda's CAT's prematurely failing, because it seems like they are very easy to Clog.

I have seen some threads on S2's having pre-mature CATs clogging..........perhaps use the advanced search in the S2 forum? Or....there's always the google search method.

If you wanna know about the part numbers, I would go put it in the part numbers thread by ASH8 and he will respond. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=167977

Hmm, okay so they are different part numbers... Well I dont have any other suggestions other than it seems Mazda's CAT's seem to fail premature pretty easily...
