The owners manual has a list of recommended shift speeds for "normal" driving and those speeds all correspond to 3000 RPM shift points. That makes for very leisurely driving, of course, not high acceleration.

 

Luggin the engine has a tendency to cause piston slap in a piston engine thus the pinging sound, in a rotary some other things might happen

Yes. This is exactly what detonation on the Renesis sounds like.
It is firly loud and comes from the left (driver's side) of the motor.

 

Yeah wow whats up whit that ...and I did search thats how I found this tread, but I cat find anithing else on the subject, mine does it at 7 to 8 RPM's it was best described by someone as the can crushing sound. and ohnestly it scares the **** out of me.
