The owners manual has a list of recommended shift speeds for "normal" driving and those speeds all correspond to 3000 RPM shift points. That makes for very leisurely driving, of course, not high acceleration.

...and I did search thats how I found this tread, but I cat find anithing else on the subject, mine does it at 7 to 8 RPM's it was best described by someone as the can crushing sound. and ohnestly it scares the **** out of me.
