Power steering squeak - sound sample

Hopefully this attaches properly...

Anyway, took out the air box and had someone turn my steering wheel back and forth. The sound appears to come from the larger silver cylinder to the left (when viewing from the front) of where the steering knuckle connects to the power steering system. Any ideas how to fix this? Perhaps pulling the rack off and lubricating something?

Nothing guys? Is there a zerk fitting so I can shoot grease into the assembly? If not, could i tap it to put one in?

The steering works fine, just noisy as hell.

Wow, I seem to have the rx8 community stumped. Anyway, I intend to pull the whole steering rack out and see if I can pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from and perhaps find a way to grease it. Perhaps a writeup is in order...

Fixed!

I pulled the steering rack out, disassembled it, and found out the brushes in the electric motor were squeaking against the commutator. Using my R/C know-how, I cleaned and polished the commutator and brushes and reassembled it. I'll have the car back together tomorrow, then do an alignment, and I should be good to go.
