Power steering problem...

Hello, can anyone help me out with something. I own a 2005 RX8 Shinka. The power steering went out, and my warranty didn't cover the repair/replacement cost. I was told by the dealership, that it was the Torque Sensor. But, the entire rack and pinion had to be replaced, because the Torque Sensor is impacted into it. So, I paid to have another one put in. Now, after a few weeks, I don't have power steering again. It started going on and off. Then, while I was in an automated car wash, the steering wheel started to glitch, when my under carraige was getting wash, and the idiot light came back on, letting me know that the power steering was out, again. Now, the dealership wants another $250, just to trouble shoot the problem. Could it be, that they were wrong in the first place, and that I bought another rack and pinion for nothing? Any ideas on what it could be? Please, if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it more than I can ever let you know. I'm in the Army, and obviously don't make a lot of money. So, any help/advice, would be great. Thank you, in advance.

Yes, it's not the sensor, and nothing wrong with the rack, it's a connector.

Popular problem that year, just search 'steering'.

Yep! It's been heavily discussed and there is a specific thread about your problem. Search the FORUM with same title you used.

There are 2 power steering connectors located underneath the air filter box tray. I've had to pull them apart and reconnect them a couple of times. I think one time the power worked in one direction but not the other.
