If the car only had 11,000 miles on it then whatever is wrong should be covered under warranty

I actuallly have had something like that happen to me too. Sometimes if the car hasn't warmed up and I rev to 6 or 7 k the power will drop off. Once it's warm I don't have an issue.

well it could be fuel cut-off no? If i remember correctly the ECU will have a fuel cut-off until your in normal operating temperatures... besides its very bad for you to rev your engine when its cold anyways... which is why Mazda implemented the fuel cuf-off before you get to normal operating temps... I could be wrong though...

^the PCM wont' let you rev THAT high if it' not warm....I'd go to the dealer and have them check it out.....since you're under warranty....

what year?
did you buy new or used?
sounds like you're probably still under warranty so I'd get it checked out. I'm leaning towards coils or a bad cat. (though it sounds awfully early in the game for that)

um,, what the hell? you are revving the car up that high when it is not warm?

that would be the ECU kicking in and attempting to make this car idiot-proof.. seriously.

^but the PCM won't let it rev that high cause at 7k it easily can cause damage....I think the pcm limits revs to like 4k when cold...
