Possible solutions for brakes squeal..?

Guys, since i ve bought my 8 (used) my brakes squeal.
once i ve changed pads on the service, it went off for 1-2k miles but it came back now.

I ve read a bulletin regarding brakes which squeal.

if i dont graze my brakes at the places mentioned and change the rotors will it keep doing it?

if it was graze problem then why did it stopped upon new pads for a while?

please help.

squeaking is basically a vibration at a really high frequency. if you are mechanically inclined, then remove the pads and apply anti-seize or high temp copper paste to the backings and slide points on the pad.

there's a product called "anti squeal paste." It's supposed to take care of that problem.

^ he's right, it won't kill the brakes, it adds enough of the pads material to the rotor to keep them from squealling.

Or you can go for quieter pads, i have hawk ceramic's, dead silent, but I bedded them in real good.

it only really works well if you do it from new...

but .. it you are handy... take the brakes apart.. clean the dust off of everything... get it out of the groove in the middle of the the pad...

put back together and bed them in again..

and really 10 times twice..

Well lets see. So far 3 new Z06's have pulled up next to me and have had brake squeal. Guy that owns a WRX STI has brake squeal and I think they come with 2 piece rotors brembos right? So what did I do? up grade to ms pads. Then what happen? the squeal was back. Now what? stage 2 kit from pettit racing. Are they any good? beats me but I'll let you know.

i think this will become a nightmare if you really try to fix it.

I am sure that there is no permanent solution.

Dude I just got new brakes and the oem rotors with hawk pads in the front and the brakes in the front are squealing like crazy! so I just put some non brake squeal on. Lets see if that helps till my slot rotors come in for the front.

guys, if we replace the rotors, with slotted or other aftermarket stock sized rotors,

would that stop squeal? or do we have to replace the pads as well?

Sure there is. I've still got the stock pads and haven't had a squeak in over 3 years.

Bed them, and once they're bedded don't be shy about using the brakes.
