Possible solutions for brakes squeal..?
Guys, since i ve bought my 8 (used) my brakes squeal.
once i ve changed pads on the service, it went off for 1-2k miles but it came back now. I ve read a bulletin regarding brakes which squeal. if i dont graze my brakes at the places mentioned and change the rotors will it keep doing it? if it was graze problem then why did it stopped upon new pads for a while? please help. |
squeaking is basically a vibration at a really high frequency. if you are mechanically inclined, then remove the pads and apply anti-seize or high temp copper paste to the backings and slide points on the pad.
|
there's a product called "anti squeal paste." It's supposed to take care of that problem.

tell yourself your car has brakes among the top 5 street cars ever produced and ignore the squeal that every other high performance car has...
and if thats not good enough, your driving the wrong car so sell it and quit putting my resale value down the shitter... |
hahaha :) thanks guys, i will try it.
please tell r0tor that i love my car and i am not the one who is going to put the resale value lower. But, whenever there is a problem, i love to find ways to solve it my self. |

^ he's right, it won't kill the brakes, it adds enough of the pads material to the rotor to keep them from squealling.
Or you can go for quieter pads, i have hawk ceramic's, dead silent, but I bedded them in real good. |
guys i did this yesterday and it stopped squealling, i took it home and i was very happy....
today i came to work and it started again... it only happen after i beded them |

heh :P
i think this will become a nightmare if you really try to fix it. I am sure that there is no permanent solution. |
Dude I just got new brakes and the oem rotors with hawk pads in the front and the brakes in the front are squealing like crazy! so I just put some non brake squeal on. Lets see if that helps till my slot rotors come in for the front.
|
guys, if we replace the rotors, with slotted or other aftermarket stock sized rotors,
would that stop squeal? or do we have to replace the pads as well? |

ok once i replace my pad set i will bed them according to the page..
shall i replace all four pads and then bed or is it ok with front pads? |
Depends if they need to be changed or not? Look at them are they thin?
|
no, i ve changed them 5000km ago,, but, if i need to change only the front, will the bedding work on new front and used rear?
