Port Flutter? Strange Engine Noise

Hey y'all,

I've had this noise coming from the engine since the day I bought it back in mid '09 ('07, 28000 mi.) The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like a topwater buzzbait (for you bass fishermen) or a fast click-clack type noise. It starts around 5K RPM's and goes away about 7K. I've read a few posts that mention port flutter, most say it sounds like a can of marbles, and that it is normal/okay. I've been told by the wife that I hear things totally differently than how they actually sound.

So, port flutter or am I hearing something totally different?

Any remedies?

And this is probably what you're describing.

I assume that I will be upset if this is the case?

Similar, however it sounds as though it is coming from the driver side and doesn't become "less pronounced". Always the same.

If it is water in the heater core, is there a solution to fix it or just better to live with it?
