Poor Acceleration and Stalling

as soon as you hear the rocks in the engine, your engine if finished.. tell them that... nothing you can do but rebuild it... your compression should down, its why you experienced acceleration problems, as soon as your engine heats up the seals expand and the pressure escapes, its why it runs better when the engine is cold.. good news mazda as an 8 year warranty on the motor so go get another one.. i would suggest another mazda dealer since that one should have already known the prblem the moment you told him you had acceleration issues... good luck hope i was helpful

I dropped my car off yesterday. They said they found a crossed plug wire, un crossed it, $100. They specifically said it wouldn't void any warranty on the engine. It made no improvement (didn't realize you could run rotaries with the wires crossed L to T).
So its back, waiting on word. The latest times its stalled its shown no codes at all. The dealer says it sounds like a blocked cat, but "it can't be a bad cat because there is no CEL". If they can't give me a definate answer I'm going to have the run a compression test and physically remove and examine the CAT. If that doesn't give me answers I'm getting rid of the car. I'm not going to chase down ghosts at $100 a guess.

Well its official, I need a new engine. Waiting on Mazda USA to decide if they will honor the warranty. The service rep thinks I'll be fine since I provided a very good service history, should find out on Monday.
Update: Mazda approved the warranty replacement. Depending on how it goes I'll probably put up a thread about my experience with the dealership good or bad. Thanks for all the help!
