it was showing PO638 & another one that read catalytic bank 1 level low (she's catless so that makes sense and im not worried about it)

So my girls car broke down this morning. reading a few of the threads google pulled up with the code it sounds like it could be a bad/loose ground OR the tb plug is dirty or the TB went bad

so when i got to her this morning she said her idle was super low, like around 300 and i had her kill the engine right after it happened and she called me. (she said the throttle pedal wasnt doing anything while car was in gear and she got a check engine light). car is an 04 btw with 47k on it and we've been letting it warm up and premixing since ~10k miles when she got it.
so looking under her hood, i found the harness that goes around the passenger strut tower had been chewed into and the black wire in the harness was all frayed and looked disconnected from itself (hard to tell, was still darkish at 6:30 am)
so im thinking possibly just a bad ground that i'll have to fix and hide some moth ***** in her engine bay.
But to be on the safe side i think im going to take the TB out and clean it up and ensure there is nothing stuck in it - ive read pieces of plastic or metal can somehow get caught in it and that will blow your engine, so rather be safe than sorry.

any other ideas? i'll post a pic of the wire harness and the black wire that's frayed in it in about an hour when i get home.
