IL Pls help , mazda rx8 has finished me

plssss any input will be appreciated,i live in chicago il , my mazda rx8 recently began giving misfires P301 and 302 so i cahnged the spark plugs , wires and ignition coils, then it went away but if i parked the car for more than 2 hrs then try to start it up i has a hard time starting but then starts up. i took it to community mazda on monday morning , they couldnt give me a diagnosis until yesterday after charging me $200 to tell me that coolant is leaking into my engine and i will neead a new engine . i dont believe the dealer because other than the hard start and the p0301 code that it currently has, it runs fine after i drive for about 20 minutes and no loss of power or reduced gas mileage . plsss any suggestions because i still owe $7500 on it and they quoted me 4500 to get another engine , plsssssss i beg any iput will be greatly appreciated as i am a student and cant afford another car right now and i love my rx8 but i dont know what to do . its a 2004 Auto rx8 with 137450 miles , its being flooded once about a year ago , plsss any questions will be answered right away ,

thank you guys and God bless

If the compression test came back fine how did they determine that the engine was leaking coolant into the housing? Personally if I were you I would go find some of the evolve guys. Great bunch of guys and some of them really know what they are doing. Personally without knowing too much about what is going on right now we would be guessing. Could be a bunch of things from leaky injectors to a failing starter.

I just read your first post. This is the same problem I had with my 2nd engine at about 36,000 miles. After I would leave the car over night, I would start the car and it would sputter for a few minutes after it was started. Wilkins Mazda diagnosed that coolant was leaking into the second rotor. Of course at that mileage, it was replace under warranty.
For a link to EvolvChicago, see my sig.

Wouldn't it fail compression then saying that compression was almost too high? I mean...if there is coolant in the housing...it wouldn't compress as if it were air increasing the pressure of the housing? It would also be pretty easy to diagnose right...just pull a trailing plug in the morning and see if it spits out coolant right?

Since your motor is out of warranty. look for a used motor. and contact ryan at shookmotorsports.com He is a rotary guy and is known for RX7s. He can install the motor for you

I am a final senior undergrad there's no way I jab that kind of money , I did every this and baby this car from when I bought it brand new, am tired of the way mazda does this knowing none of there engines lasts this long, I talked to d mech at another dealer and he said he's never saw an rx8 make it past 120k on the same engine, it's soooo sad brcause I actually though taking very good care of this car and driving it a recommended would give me a good number of years but it seems I hate to admit it but I will have to give up rotary and go piston because this is just too much , now am stuck with no car till I graduate in may and start working ,
WORD OF WARNING -THE RX8 ENGINE WIL NOT MAKE IT PAST 125K , I was lucky I made it this far with the same engine (:-(

Most cars don't make it past 125k. Assuming there isn't much damage you can get your engine rebuilt for about 2k. Rotary Resurrection is a dam good rebuilder and very knowledgeable. I know you don't have much money but you could take on an extra $2500 to your school loans and get an engine that lasts you another 80 to 90k.

Just a thought. Good luck.
