P0410 but no CEL, is this right?

Hello everyone. My bluetooth OBDII dongle arrived on Friday and I had loads of fun poking around Torque on my Android phone looking at all the pretty numbers.

I noticed that on the Check Engine Faults I had a P0410 error, no idea of course when it came on, but looking though the forum, I noticed that people who had this error code, had it accompanied by a CEL.

I have reset the error to see if it will reapear but if I never got a CEL, should I worry that my CEL is no working or is it normal to not have it turn on?

On a related note, is there a way to check if the CEL is actually functional (without breaking something preferably hehe).

to check leave your gas cap off or just barely on and go for a drive or two .

but basically it means that it saw a problem at least once so far but not enough times repeatedly (yet) to illuminate the cel
