Oil Pressure Running High

My oil pressure is running high and got worse last oil change. Is this normal? It's about 2-3 dashes past center. I drive her pretty hard about half the time and do a lot of city driving for short trips but 99% of the time make sure that it is to normal operating temperature before turning it off. I think that my gas milage is pretty abismal as well.
These are all common problems that I have seen on this forum but I was wondering if the coexistance of all of tehm showed something else.
Also, is there a preferred oil that I could be using for optimum performance?
If that oil is really expensive, what is the best value?
Thanks!

The " oil pressure" guage is an idiot guage....they probably updated your PCM...the last flash changed the position of the needle a bit.

Don't expect it to tell you anything important

The guage is always two notches past the midpoint until you drop below 5lbs of pressure. (in which case it drops to nothing).

Do you have a receipt of what they did?

oil pressure is either ON or OFF, it can't tell you anything else, so don't sweat it.

The gauge shouldn't be moving. It is only a switch. I doubt anyone would have to mess with the switch when changing your oil, but keep an eye on it. Also check your oil levels. If the needle continues to move make an appointment with the dealer.

I also got a notice that I am due for a checkup from the dealer. Should I go in or it just a waste of money?

just get oil changes every 3-5k miles. There isn't much else to do for the car.

At 2 years, I had the transmission, diff, coolant and brake fluids swapped.

Might also want to do air filter once a year.

Read your owner's manual, there's a schedule in there.
