NY Oil leak

Hello I just took my 2005 rx8 out of the garage for spring drove it two days noticed white foamy snotty stuff on the dipstick and then noticed my oil light go on and off so I took it home and parked it couldn't figure out why it had used so much oil for such a short distance drove it maybe 150 miles total since taking it out and then I noticed oil on the ground. I drove it up to my garage and oil is leaking steadily out of it it's leakin by the front drivers tire couldn't see too well if Neone knows what it could be it'd be helpfully also the pressure gauge hasn't dropped at all

the foamy stuff on the dipstick is normal. the leaking is not.

based on location it sounds like you may have punctured the oil cooler or one of it's associated lines.

where in ny are you?

its pretty common for the oil cooler lines to rust and start cracking and leaking on older models. Are you familiar with removing the front bumper? If so, remove and take a good look at your cooler lines. You may need to replace the fittings on the end just to get you by. There are some DIY's on this somewhere in this forum.

Paimon is correct. If you search (including some of my previous posts) you will also find info on this topic for a recall campiaign on this issue in Canada that Mazda USA has refused to extend into the US, at least so far. There are complaints filed with the NTSC on this issue since it could be a safety issue depending on how bad the leak is and the conditions under which it occurs. Might help you in your discussion with your dealer. Suggest you take a couple of minutes and file a complaint with NTSC as well - more attention it gets the more likely that Mazda extends the recall to the US.

I had the bottom of my oil pan itself rust out (among a long list of other rust problems). These cars are just rust buckets.
