Thumbs up oil in hose from air filter to the throttle body.

Hey all,

Well, my car ended up being 'flooded' which I guess is fine, it is running now, & they fixed the problem, but it was not in a situation to flood (had it for 2yrs, so I think I have a general idea about keeping it from flooding).

Anyway, I start pulling stuff apart in a half assed attempt (I was sick) to see if I can correct the issue. Nope, but I did notice that there was about 3-4-5-6 or so caps full of oil in the hose from the back of the air filter to the throttle body. I had it towed in, and when I went to pick it up, I asked about (I had asked for them to check on it). I was told it was normal. So I asked further, is it from the oil being injected to lube the rotor gaskets & getting tossed up into the throttle body? Then defying the air being pushed in the other direction & making its way almost to the back of the filter?

YES! I was told. So, if any of you might have noticed this as well, and it is like the condensation in the oil, where it is just one of those things, I will be much more happy, otherwise, I am a bit nervous at the moment.

Thanks

I've got oil puddles in the ribs of my accordian tube also. I think it's normal. I wouldn't be too worried about it though.

Thanks.

I thought it was the case, but I wanted to make sure.

You might want to read the lengthy thread on this very topic. Do a search of the forum to find the thread.

it can be bad for the MAFS so the MAFS should be cleaned but it is something that CAN occur thru normal operation. However there have been a couple of people who had leaking oil cooler lines and the oil was getting sucked in thru the intake.

thanks for the information, and link. I did search for a while trying to spell things different, in case of a moment of misspelled thread titles, etc. But did not find it, so thanks for the link.

In my own stupidity, I did not try 'intake' but I can blame it on medication this week (stomach virus )
