Oil Cooler Lines
Hey guys,
I've got a leak on my driver's side oil cooler lines, I purchased the lines that go out from the driver side oil, they are coupled together. Now I took off the fender liner last weekend and was a bit confused as to if I need another line that connects to the line going out from driver side oil cooler. I am getting confused because there seems to be a bracket in between and I am not sure if this bracket is attaching two lines together OR if its just holding the line together. According to the diagram it should be all one line... please advise.
I am including several pics to help you guys understand and help me out. First pic is the diagram, I have the lines circled in red, are they all one line?
Another question is how do I get these lines off? I can see the line on the oil cooler side that I can just use an 8-10 wrench but what about the other end, they are listed as "quick disconnect" lines.

I had the same problem, maybe my thread can be of some help. I ended up replaceing all rusted out lines, its cheapest to have them made. To replace most of them only cost about 150. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/oil-leak-pictures-233520/

So I swapped this line today and noticed immediately after installing the new line that its leaking right at the bolt that connects the line to the driver side oil cooler (both lines), any advice? Do I just need to tighten the bolt more? Or do I need to align the holes on the bolt with the cooler or something? Oil only leaks when the car is on

Did you replace the copper crush washers?..they get hardened by torquing them down and they leak easily if you re-use them. They are cheap to replace so well worth it. Another option is to heat them up with a torch and let them cool off slowly..this will soften them and they will work better to re-use them
