I have a 2005 8, bought it in August of 05... When the car is just idiling in my drive way I always hear this high pitch beeping sound... I don't what it is, kind of freaks me out sometimes.... can anyone help?

 

is there a light on ur dash of an exclamation point.

i believe it is your tire pressure.

 

oh no its nothing to do with the dash, there are no warning lights (i.e CEL< tire pressure, Oil) i'm talking about when my 8 is on and just sitting in my driveway I can hear a high pitch beeping noise, coming from inside the hood, because i opened up the hood and I can hear it.....its like a high pitch BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! for a long period of time

 

you'll have to make a recording of the sound. I have no idea what you could be describing.

someone just told me that, the noise is normal and that its oil pump, or something like that.... so i guess i shouldn't be worried....

 

the oil pump makes a long beep?

 

its not like a horn beep, can't explain it, but i think you would think its normal if u heard it....

hey thanks guys and mysql for providing the clip, def just heard it, that little whine yeah thats what I hear...in the 10 months that ive owned the 8 i just heard it yesterday haahah..... thanks for clearing it up for me guys....
