hi just brought a 04 mazda rx8 (192) from a mazda dealer it runs very lumpy and there is a knocking coming from the gearbox when the car is hot. i took it back to the dealer they had it for a few days then came back and said it was normal and they all do it could any1 help me! the car has done 18000 surely they are not all like it?

 

Try another dealer in your area...where are you ....

try another dealership. You probably shouldn't have a 'knocking' sound coming from the gearbox. Is it an automatic?

 

Definitely not right. It should be very smooth. It's a little noisy in a rattle sort of way but no knocking and definitely not lumpy.

+1 for another dealer. Or take them out with you on a test drive and make sure they feel what you are feeling.
