Noise when clutch is pushed, from outside car (not braket!)

So, I'm driving home yesterday and when I push the clutch pedal I a creaking noise. It is not the pedal bracket, mine has been welded and the noise seems to be coming from outside the car.

Its sounds like it is coming from the pushrod on the top of the transmission. What do you think? Can I lube this?

Thanks!

The rod that attaches to the release fork should have grease, couldn't hurt to re-grease it.
If its not that, it could be the release bearing.

The noise sounds like a creaky old door if that helps. And it is only when pushing the pedal, not releasing.

Hopefully greasing will work...

Right... but your release bearing is in use while you are pushing the pedal in.
Anyway, hope you figure it out.
