no syncro for 4th gear?

can anyone else just shift out of 3rd and into 4th without ever using the clutch?

lol I feel like a champ every time I do it but there is no way that it can be good.

any insight to this would be great.

It's possible to shift without the clutch, you just have to make sure the RPM of the transmission matches up with the RPM of the engine (the job of the synchro). As long as they do then you're just doing the synchronizers job for it. That said I wouldn't recommend it as the few times you screw up could cause damage to the gear itself which could wear it out sooner than expected.

4th gear dies frequently in this transmission. It's what broke in mine.

I do feel as if 4th gear is kind of weak...

and to be more clear. The syncro does work bc I can't just go into 4th when coming down from 5th I have to rev match. Although I tend to think that 4th is weak bc I can, without fail, shift from 3rd to 4th without the clutch. must be starting to fail.

for me the car runs great... I dont get a grind, the syncro never throws the car out of gear, and I seem to have normal power in 4th. so maybe its just my car
