VA New VA member with a possible clutch issue.

So I have doen a lot of searching through this site and I have not yet found anything spot on in similiarity to my issue. Now I admit I have not read every single thread and post to thread but I did a pretty thorough search. Now im not a mechanic or a modder, so if I use whirring instead of scratching describing these sounds I apologize! I bought my 2007 RX8 m/t in november 2012 with 57k miles. Since mid january I have been noticing sounds from whatnmy uneducated self can only assume is my clutch.

Also I know this may be the cause for my issue I tend to dog first and second gear up to whatever the speed limit is then just move over to sixth gear to cruise gives me the fun of accelerating but keeps me from getting a ticket. (ive stopped doing this)

Here are my symptoms.

1. If I am in first gear rolling about 15 mph with the clutch to floor it sounds like it did not "disengage" fully or like something is still catching. This does nothappen in any other gear.

2. If I take first gear above 7000 rpm I have to wait for the tach to drop below 5/6k before I can shift to second or it grinds horribly. Not normally a problem but when im messing around at a stoplight and I trymto take off. The 1 or 2 seconds I have to wait before I can shift is murder. I experience the same issue with third but to a much lesser degree.

3. Now I always wait 60 seconds after turningmthe car on before I move the vehicle at all. But if its been sitting oovernight the shifter is stiff and requires a bit of force to change gears everymorning. I do not know if this nirmal or not.

(Unrelated to the clutch at all) 4. Since I have had the vehicle the oil level gauge has not moved once. I wikl simoly be driving down and the road and the oil light will come on. Since I have no way to moniter my levels I just keep a quart with me. Ive had th vehicle seven months ive had thiz happen 3times while getting my oil andmfilter changed every 3k miles.

Just a little FYI, I was completely unprepared for them maintence and upkeep on the vehicle. But after having for just a short while I know its probably the most enjoyable thing I have ever driven and definitely worth the increased cost of ownership. Im unedjucated on the rotary and its quirks (although this site is a gold mine) and simply do not know if anh of this is cause for concern, somthing to watch, or requires immediate action. Any insight from someone more familiar would be wonderful! (Apologies for all the typos all I have is my tablet)

Moving this to Troubleshooting, don't worry, you didn't miss-post it. Just will get some more appropriate attention there.

It sounds like you could have a couple of different things going on here:

1) Clutch line might have air in it, preventing a full disengagement of the clutch pedal

2) Motor mounts might be collapsing, which can throw your transmission to driveshaft slightly out of alignment and cause problems with shifting. How is your vibration at idle?

3) The really stiff shifter in the morning is probably old/bad fluid. Change it out for some Mazda dealer fluid (some prefer it), Redline MT-90 (popular), or Eneos 75W90 gear oil (harder to get, but top notch)

2) My car use to do that to me in fourth. I changed my transmission and diff fluid and it worked normal again. Not sure what really fixed it.
