Neutral Switch part number?

I have a 2004 manual, and have been having the annoying "seaking" idle where it'll fluctuate back and forth from 1400 rpm to 900 rpm at idle, but will drop back to 900 rpm as soon as the clutch pedal is pushed in.

So, I searched around and learned it is either the neutral switch or the clutch switch. Turns out, the thing finally threw a code, so I've got the "P0850 - Neutral Switch Input Circuit problem ON" issue, so it's definately the Neutral Switch.

However, I can't find a part number anywhere around here for the thing. I know I'll have to order it from a dealer, but I HATE getting parts from a dealership unless I know the part number ahead of time...service counter people always try to sell me something different if I don't know it's EXACT name or it's EXACT part number.

So, does anybody know the part number for the Neutral Switch that goes on the transmission? Thanks!

I'll try onlinemazdaparts.com. I did search this forum, and couldn't find a part number. I'm betting you can't, either.

Edit:

Nope. Not found on onlinemazdaparts.com, either. I've tried Finishline, rockauto, and now onlinemazdaparts... I do "search", thank you. So telling me to do more of that isn't really all that helpful.

So... Back to the original question...

Anybody know the part number for the neutral switch?

Thanks.

OK. To answer the question for anyone else that searches in the future, since NYCGPS is pretty much uncapable of saying anything other than "Search...god", the part number for the Neutral Switch for a Manual is:

Section 6600A:

17-640A

Located on the driver's side of the transmission housing (though that info is easily available from searching). Don't get this confused with the switch numbered 17-640B, as that's for the backup lighting and is also on the transmission, however it's on the passenger side of the housing.

Thanks again, NYCGPS for your complete non-help on the issue. I'm sure myself and thousands of others appreciate your constant encouragement to search...

In the Service Part manual 04 edition, both parts are listed as :

Y612-14-640 (the switch itself)
Y611-14-640 (For backup-lighting)

but on the "newest" edition of the catalog both switch shared the same part number. So when ordering, it doesnt really matter which one u go. Either the new part number, or one of the above. cuz eventually they will ship you the same part.

Just wanna clear this up.

Dont let people who doesn't even know what he is talking about to confuse anybody.

Thanks.

Thank you, Elara.

Also, for heyarnold, I've found the switch in a few places; dealer wants $119 for it, onlinemazdaparts.com wants around $79, but the best deal I found was through mazmart. The quote I got for it was $75, shipped, but he had a used one in stock with a 90 day warranty for about half that. Hope that helps 'ya.

The part number is:

Y61217640B

And yes, the switches are the same, so it's the same part number for both, now.

Thanks for the research on this Frontier, as I need one of these.

I could have done without having to read the noncontributing posts. Why even post, just ignore the thread.
