Need infos about the electronic systems

I'm almost done with rebuilding my rx8 I am now trying to start the car and I need information on the way the electronics works.

First thing I need to know is if the 2005 wirring harness that goes from the computer to the fuse box then to the inside of the car will fit on a 2006 car. I know that their is something about the keyless and some infrared stuff but I don't really care if the keyless works or not.

I also need to know how the anti-teft system works , my keys are not programmed with the computer and I need to see if the car works before towing it to the dealership to have my keys programmed. I found the way to disarm the alarm and what I need to know is how to hotwired the car. I guess I need to do this on the wirring that goes from the computer to the engine since I guess the computer is blocking the current from the ignition wire and the starter wire to reach the engine? Am I right? Is it blocking anything else?

Last thing I need to know is where the millage of the car is being saved.

thanks

Not so simple......

The computer doesn't cut the starter, just ignition, hotwiring won't work.

The dealer computer (WDS) can authorize the keys. When you have two recognized keys, it is fairly simple to register more.

The mileage is stored in both the computer and the speedo, if they get disconnected it goes to the last # stored in the computer, (I think that's how it works...)

well if it would not cut the starter the car would crank?

the speedo is original part from my car and the ecu is probably too. could it be stored in the power steering module since it is pretty much the only electronic device that did not came off my car. or something else on the fuse box wiring.

There is something called " as built data" that calibrates the different modules. I think you need to program this to get the thing up and running??

Although with the same ECU and dash.....it might be OK.

After changing my steering rack...it was a bitch to get the DSC working properly...it didn't want to calibrate the steering angle sensor on the wheel...to the steering position sensor in the rack.

I think you will need an IDS or WDS to program the thing and get it working
