Need help before it gets dark!-Flooded

I was cleaning my car and moved and did the stupid thing and shut it off too soon and flooded it. I've done the dealer trick and it hasn't worked....i tried taking the fuel pump fuse out and trying it that way and nothing. I don't want to ruin the starter. I just got the car so i'm not too familiar with it yet. It's a manual...I could use some help!

A friend of mine's RX8 flooded one time and he just rolled down the hill and jump-started the car at 2nd gear. Some people use 3rd.

But then again...I wouldn't recommand you doing it....it's dangerous and it might put a strain on your starter..... .....

My friend did it cuz the whole de-flooding procedure didn't work for him........

But ..for you....you can always tow it to the dealer at Mazda's expense..if you still have warranty...

And also ...I'm just telling you what my friend did. I personally don't know much about de-flooding since my car never flood.... so far...(knocks on the wood)

It's an '04 with 39k on it so i think it's out of warranty. I just got the thing and have been careful not to try and flood it but i had a brain fart and moved it and now i'm screwed. I need it to get to work tomorrow so if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I've let it sit for like 20 mins now since the last time i tried the procedure. Will letting it sit for awhile help before I try it again?

I have 04 with 42K. My warranty is effective til 03/2009 or 50K whichever comes first. Atleast that's what it says on the print-out from Mazda. Or it coulda been 60K...i need to check again. But the date is precise.

After that.....there's that engine core 100K/8yr......that will only cover the engine core..nothingelse..

So i can have it towed to Mazda at their expense and they will take care of the flooding issue if i can't get it to start? I was going to go out and try it again...should i do anything different? Should I try just starting it normal...and then do the procedure if it doesn't work?

I would think so. You can always call the dealer and ask. This issue is a well-known issue. They have recall and everything for it.

While you're there, make sure you get all the latest flashes done on your car. Just ask them....

Well.......right now that's the only think I could think of............there are a lot of experienced members on this forum. You can always ask around and educate yourself.

I don't think waiting around would help.......but what do I know, right? I never had that flood issue with my car.

I'm just telling you what I heard from others......and what my friend did.

if you have someone the best way to do it is have them pull start you.. you have to put the tow hook in the front. get up to ~ 15 mph drop it in second and let them pull you till it starts..

it will work. but you have to have two people that know what they are doing.

I just moved here and don't know anyone and all my tools are still up in michigan. So what exactly is the warranty? I don't want to call mazda unless they are paying for it. I just tried it again and i'm not getting anything.

Dude..you again?.....I just said my warranty effective til 03/2009 ..............I'm not the one who said 5 yrs 60K..................................it's invasion who said it......

I said it coulda been 60K...

Besides....Me and invasion were not entirely wrong...... powertrain IS 5 yr 60K.

So if you're going to quote ....can you pls quote someone who actually said what you're trying to correct?

And can you pleaseee stop quoting whatever I say?......and like...maybe leave my comments alone? It's like you're following me around or something....it's f-ing creepy. And you're really starting to get on my nerves.....

call the dealer in the morning and find out. If not try cleaning the spark plugs and if that does not work go to www.autopartswarehouse and order some new plugs. I believe there 85 dollars shipped. Cheapest i have found. Try a search there has to be something on here to help you

Darzan....just call the nearest Mazda dealer/service center, give them your car's model, year, the milage, they will tell you exactly what covers and what not....or just call Mazda North America. toll free - 1800 222 5500, Mon - friday 6:00am to 4:45pm...... If this is not the correct #, they will route you to correct dept.

I believe.....parts that associated with flooding issue...such as starter, spark plugs, etc,.. are covered under powertrain warranty. So right now..you're pretty much covered..since yours is 04 with 39K.

But don't take my word for it. Call Mazda and find out.......
