Motor mounts question?

hey guys recently i began to notice heavy vibration while idleing in drive but not in neutral.. ive had this problem before about 2 years ago took it to the dealer still under the 60,000 mile warranty and they replaced the mounts no questions asked but now the problem is back and worse then before.. my question is, is this still covered under the 100,000 mile warany that covers the engine? im already at 66,000 so im out of luck there. if not how much does the dealer usually charge for them to be replaced.. thanks allot. by the way i have and 06 rx8

no only the engine is covered under that mazda warranty. they charge you an arm and a leg and sometimes even your soul. i believe RaceRoots just put out some mounts, you can buy from them and have your local shop install them. which i assume would be a lot cheaper. or you can install them yourself

RR is a forum vendor, you can pm them if youd like or post somewhere in their forum section, but heres the link

Do you know if they replaced all of the engine mounts? They may have only replaced one. I also do not recommend the RR mounts. RR as a company has a questionable reputation (search) and the mounts are also new and unproven since only a couple of people are running them and they are almost certain to increase NVH so keep that in mind. Replacing the engine mounts is easy and factory mounts are not expensive so properly diagnose the issue and then fix it.

i believe i recall the tech telling me one of the motor mounts had cracked, so im guessing only one was replaced but at the rate it is vibrating now i don't doubt it if they are both gone. it is vibrating allot more then when i originally brought it in to get it replaced the first time.

Yeah the other one is probably shot now. It's always best to start fresh and do both.
